All classroom size limits are indicated by the State of Montana licensing guidelines. 

Center for Generations utilizes the entire St. John’s campus as our classroom.   Our favorite spots include the big hill courtyard, town square, the duck pond, the gross motor room, and other areas of St. John’s.

How many children are under one teacher’s care?

Infants (ages 0-2) 1 Provider: 4 Infants
Ages 2-3 1 Provider: 8 children
Ages 4-6 1 Provider: 10 children

Tuition & Fees
All rates are subject to change with a 30 day notice.

Rates are assigned according to the room your child is enrolled in, not the chronological age.  In order to provide the best care for our children, we cannot give credit from the weekly tuition for time your child is not present due to illness.  Please review the Tuition Policies/Parent Contract for information regarding vacation policies.

Tuition is due weekly (for community families) on Mondays or the first day of your child’s scheduled weekly attendance.  Payment boxes are located in the Infant room, by the entrance of the Pre-K/Preschool room, and at the SACC program.  If you can any questions regarding our tuition policies, please contact the director for further clarification.

The Center for Generations does participate in the state paid childcare program.  Should you qualify for assistance; HRDC (247-4732) will determine your monthly co-payment and the eligible hours of childcare.

Meal time at the Center for Generations

At Center for Generations, we consider mealtime another opportunity for learning.  We strive to create a peaceful, home-like setting in which children can freely converse amongst themselves and their teachers.  We provide breakfast, lunch, and a p.m. snack for all age groups.

The Center for Generations participates in the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program, ensuring that our meals are providing the highest quality and nutritional value according to their guidelines.  There is no additional charge for meals.  Please let the Center know if your child as food allergies so that we can provide substitutions.  Menus are posted weekly.

Breakfast is served at 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., Lunch is served at 11:20 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and snack is served at 3:00 p.m.  We serve meals family style with children’s assistance.  Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary needs that may limit what your child can be served.

Quiet time at the Center for Generations

All children will engage in a quiet rest time in the afternoon.  Older children who may not need naps will rest and partake in quiet activities (reading, coloring etc) until quiet time is complete.  Infants nap as needed and are provided individual cribs.  Infant children will be moved to a mat when they have reached 26lbs or 1 year of age.  Children age 1 year  to 4 years nap from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. daily, and are provided nap mats.  Parents are encouraged to bring blankets and pillows for rest time.

Do we help potty train?

We follow the philosophy that toilet training can only be effective if the child wants to learn and feels responsible.  We will provide assistance, support, and enthusiasm for this great milestone as kids begin to exhibit interest in potty training.  Most children who exhibit initial interest in potty training at home will not be as ready at the child care center.  Once children begin to express an interest at the Center, we will work with your child to be successful.  We do not believe in shaming or punishing children for having toilet accidents at the Center.

What can parents do to foster a child’s success with potty training at the Center?  

Parents should tell their primary provider when their child is beginning to experiment with potty training.  Additionally, your primary provider may request that you keep your child in diapers at the beginning stages of toilet training.  Once children are able to communicate their need to use the bathroom and are beginning to undress themselves, pull-ups or training pants may be requested.  When children are working on potty training, having clothing that is easy to put on and take off is essential, so that children can feel as independent as possible.  Ongoing communication between parent and provider is essential as we work together on this major developmental milestone.
