What is our
illness policy?
The Director of the Center reserves the right to determine
whether a child should be attending the Center due to
illness. In general, children who are not feeling well and
need more one on one care, or cannot participate in the
normal routine of the Center, are not well enough to be at
the Center.
In order to break the cycle of one child making another ill,
and in accordance to the Montana Department of Public
Health, your child may not come to the Center if he/she has
any of the following:
-
has a
fever, of 101 degrees or higher, in the previous 24
hours (including one from teething)
-
has
diarrhea or vomiting, or has had it in the previous 24
hours (including medicinal side effects)
-
has a
bacterial infection including, but not limited to, strep
throat, scarlet fever, impetigo, pink eye or bacterial
conjunctivitis, skin infections, etc.
-
has
chicken pox
-
has
persistent coughing
-
experiences breathing difficulty or wheezing
-
has a
heavy nasal discharge
-
is
irritable, fussy, or cranky
If a child
develops symptoms of illness while at the Center, we will
isolate the child and immediately contact you to come and
get your child.
The Center for Generations is not equipped to provide sick
childcare. In the event that you need sick childcare,
“Cuddles & Care” is available through St. Vincent
Healthcare. The telephone number is 237-8800.
Parents are requested to notify the Center immediately if
their child has a communicable disease. We will then post
notices at the Center with information as to the
contagiousness, etc. A physician statement can be requested
at any time by the Director.
Medication
Policy:
-
No
medication shall be administered to mask symptoms.
-
Prescription medications will be administered only with
a valid pharmacy label, a medication form signed by a
parent and/or the child's physician with exact dosage
and the route of administration.
Further
information regarding the Medication Policy is available
from the Director.
