Garden Court


	St. John's Garden Court St. John’s Garden Court is a 32 bed skilled nursing unit designed specifically for people with severe cognitive impairment. It is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid. The unit is physically secured with an enclosed courtyard and a fenced outdoor patio area with raised flower and vegetable garden beds. There are specially designed energy outlet areas where residents are able to participate in common household activities such as laundry, baking cookies, or dusting. The large dayroom allows the residents to gather and enjoy watching old movies, singing around the piano, or just visiting with guests or other residents. All activities are geared toward residents with Alzheimer’s to promote sustaining functionality. St. John’s recently completed the construction of two 12-bed assisted living cottages designed for residents with less severe cognitive impairment. These cottages are an attempt to create a smaller more homelike setting for residents in the early stages of dementia. They are secure units with enclosed courtyards providing the highest level of safety in a comfortable, nurturing home.
