Our mission is to provide living opportunities within a nurturing environment of hope, dignity and love.
When facing increasing health care needs, many families have to make difficult decisions. Often that decision is either full-time placement in a care facility or become the fulltime caregiver. Adult care assistance, not permanent nursing home placement, is an important alternative. Seniors who stay active and participate in life have a higher degree of “quality of life”. St. John’s Senior Day Services program provides a caring, compassionate environment with healthy meals and enjoyable activities. We believe the individual should be allowed to remain in their own home for as long as possible.
We Help Set Goals & Offer Support
We offer participants the ability to socialize and enjoy peer support. It is important that seniors be encouraged to maintain their present level of functioning for as long as possible. Occupational therapy and physical therapy are offered by the professional staff in our Rehabilitation Services Center.
We provide respite aid and education for families and their caregivers through support groups and a strong chaplaincy program. We serve the community as an integral part of the services network and the long-term care continuum.
We Can Meet Your Special Needs
At some point family members may not be able to provide the level of home-care needed. St. John’s Senior Day Services can assist through Personal Care Services. Participants are welcome to take advantage of St. John’s in-house barber and beauty shop. Our skilled dietitians and kitchen staff prepare foods to meet the special nutritional requirements of our participants. If a participant reaches a point in their life that at-home care is no longer possible, the Senior Day Services program helps the participant and their family adjust gradually to residential care.
Non-resident seniors enjoy social activities, hearty meals, and licensed care including rehabilitation at St. John’s through Senior Day Services. This program has been providing quality care since its conception in 1982 and continues to provide support for caregivers and their loved ones.
Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.
“As one of the baby boomers I have become caregiver for my father Johnie Marshall since my mother passed away four years ago. It is wonderful to know I can take my father to St. John’s and have peace of mind (I still work full time) that he is well taken care of by a wonderful staff. Dad goes for walks, watches movies, enjoys bus rides, games and parties. All of these activities help keep him alert. I would highly recommend St. John’s to anyone that has an a aging parent, relative or friend in need of care. My many thanks to all staff members at St. John’s.”
